Dress for Success Welcomes New Clients

Last week, we hosted a welcome event for 30 new ladies starting with us on our career coaching and mentoring programmes. The event was held with huge support from some of our very generous partners and we’re very excited to work with such a wonderful group of ladies across the next few months.

For the welcome event, we had a comprehensive range of initial supports such as suiting clinics and beauty workshops, and a motivational talk from Deborah Loughran, Dress for Success Motivational Speaker and Career Coach. These initial supports will ensure that our new clients will be able to put their best professional foot forward as they make their way through the employment programmes that we’re running with the ladies from now until the end of the year.

The event would not have been possible without the support of our wonderful partners, particularly with the complications for the times that we’re currently in. Our clients and our partners adapted to restrictions and measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety.

We would like to give each and every one of our partners a huge thank you:

Thank you to the team at Marks & Spencer, who in collaboration with our team of stylist volunteers, provided a professional capsule wardrobe to each of the 30 ladies, for use in job interviews and as they secure jobs, to embark on their career with their best foot forward.

Thank you to Maura Healy of brow and lash bar Alchemy Lab Dublin and Judy Wang who provided personal care & beauty kits to each of the ladies as well as running make-up tutorials with the ladies on professional looks for interviews and the workplace;

As well as the Brown Thomas make-up packs and personal care & beauty kits, the 30 ladies received an additional goodie bag with products generously provided by Anna Zupinska, from Bioderma Ireland; Hask Hair; and Emma Hardie Skincare. And a huge thank you to Clare Forde PR for coordinating the goodie bags and range of products for the 30 ladies!

A huge thanks must also be said to the Carmelite Community Centre for providing us with a venue for the welcome event; for being so welcoming and obliging; and providing so much support, particularly in light of Covid-19 considerations.

The event was a huge success and a great way to welcome our new clients to Dress for Success. We are looking forward to working with each and every one over the rest of 2020 to provide the career supports required to build sustainable careers.
