Mná na hÉireann, Women of Ireland Awards – We won!

Dress for Success are delighted to announce that we have been chosen as one of six awardees of the Mná na hÉireann Women of Ireland Fund!

We have been chosen for our work “providing individuals with ongoing access to skilled recruitment professionals and educational programmes to equip them with the skills and confidence to partake in the economic opportunities available to them.”

In total, the six fund awards amount to €1.8 million. As well as the funding, we will now receive a place on an Accelerator Programme run by the Social Innovation Fund, which includes bespoke training and mentoring by experts from across the private, non-profit and public sector.

The Mná na hÉireann Women of Ireland Fund is managed by the Social Innovation Fund Ireland, in partnership with Bank of America and the Department of Rural and Community Development. The announcement was made at an event on Thursday, 3rd October 2019 in Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin.

There was a rigorous application and interview process, but we’re delighted to have been chosen alongside five other incredibly inspiring organisations and initiatives which include:

  • Women’s Education Programme (An Cosán VVC)
  • Here Comes the Girls (Westmeath Community Development)
  • Integration from Day One (Irish Refugee Council)
  • Amplifying Rural Women’s Voices (EQUAL Ireland)
  • Super Women (Transgender Equality Network Ireland)

We want to say a huge congratulation to our five co-awardees!

This is the first year of the award, which is also the first of its kind in Ireland to support charitable and social enterprise organisations that support women to secure sustainable employment, by investing in organisations that provide training, work experience, education and other services directly to disadvantaged women.

We cannot wait to get started on the accelerator programme, and to invest the funding in our services to support women across Ireland!
